PHORMIUM
The native flax is easy to grow and a very effective landscaping plant in groups or as a feature plant. The many hybrids are derived from either P. tenax which is upright growing or P. cookianum, the mountain flax which is smaller growing and often with attractive drooping leaves. Sun to part shade, happy in most soil conditions and especially useful in damp sites where the species tenax especially grows and thrives. Great in pots, as a specimen or in groups
