Corylopsis spicata
Buttercup Winter Hazel aka Spike Winter Hazel Very fragrant hanging flowers of yellow with purple anthers in later winter/early spring. These appear before the broadly ovate, tooth edges leaves which are in themselves attractive. Happiest in semi-shade with acidic soil with good fertility but generally unfussy and reliable. Grows to around 2 x 1.5m
