Very useful, easy to grown native shrubs, they are excellent for low hedging, mass plantings and specimen shrub. Hebes respond to a light trim after flowering and flower colour and quantity is enhanced with an annual dressing of general fertiliser. This will help to prevent them getting leggy and growing nice and compact and well branched. Bees love hebe blooms which all types produce en masse.
